Mt. Baker, northernmost of the Cascade volcanoes, is a 10,778-foot sentinel above the fertile coastal wetlands to the north and west.

Photographer's comment:

This marsh is a haven for ducks and geese which can hide among the cattails. My son Ian and I were hiking here one day when we spied this reflection of Mt. Baker in the calm waters of the slough.
