Mountain LaurelMountain Laurel, Kalmia latifolia, grows throughout the eastern United States. In West Virginia, where these blossoms were photographed near Birch River, it is usually found at higher elevations. Mountain Laurel blooms before the Rhododendrons, a close relative. Many varieties of Mountain Laurel are cultivated and it makes a choice garden plant. |
