Bluets

These delicate little flowers bloom in east coast meadows and open woods early in the spring. The blossoms of Houstonia caerulea are only about a half inch across, on slender stems no more than six inches tall. This luxurient clump of blossoms was photographed in Harrison County, West Virginia.
