Yellow Lady's SlipperThe terrestrial orchids are some of the most interesting North American flowers. The Yellow Lady's Slipper, Cypripedium calceolus, is uncommon in eastern forests and extends as far west as Idaho and Arizona. Some taxonomists are now calling it Cypripedium pubescens var. pubescens. This blossom was photographed in southern West Virginia. |
