Tree Planting

This streamside restoration project along Whatcom Creek in downtown Bellingham, Washington removed dense invasive Himalayan Blackberries and replaced them with native species like this Douglas Fir. Once the trees and shrubs mature they will provide shade for the creek and food for wildlife.

The Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association is spearheading efforts along many Whatcom County streams to improve habitat for salmon.
